The main purpose of Bulbox is to contribute for environmental preservation by avoiding air and soil contamination with mercury present in fluorescent lamps.
Large consumers of fluorescent lamps, such as public agencies, schools, hospitals and companies, are benefited by the economic advantages offered by the low electric power consumption and long operation life of the lamps.
However, they find difficulties in waste management, with occupation of areas for material storage and the need for packing and transporting the lamps to the recycling plants.
Bulbox system allows the destruction of the lamps at the disposal site, safely and practically, avoiding air contamination with mercury gas, and allowing an operation with lower cost and risk compared with the conventional system.
